I loved this new lipstick combination that I put together while getting ready for the Jumpman Invitational. This was my first time trying a color from Milani's "Bold Matte" collection and I must say that I'll be wearing it more often. I love that matte lipsticks are long lasting, but I'm also a shiny type of girl. So, pairing it with another product that gave it a little shine was a must!
I don't always wear lip liner, but I do frequently layer shades. Most of the time, I'll apply my lipstick like a lip liner. That means that I'll apply it around the edges of my lips, heavily, then I'll fill in the middle. When I layer, I then add the second color in the middle and apply while somewhat stretching the middle color so that the lining of my lips stay darker.
If that doesn't make sense to you, then stay tuned for future posts where I'll share video content of my lipstick application and selections.

Honorable Mention: I used the Precisely, My Brow Pencil by Benefit Cosmetics in Shade #4 (Warm Deep Brown) on my eyebrows.
I LOVE a good bargain find! This Milani Cosmetics lipstick collection currently retails for $8 on their site. Of course I purchased the shade "I am Motivated," because I'm So MoTiFFated! This color is a bit deep, but true to the name of its collection, it is definitely bold. Even though I layered it, this one is pretty enough to wear on it's own!
Due to it being a matte product, I wanted to add some shine. So, I grabbed a liquid lipstick to give it some gloss and I was so glad that I did! I usually layer my colors to be a bit different. For me, the fun part is trying new things with no plan in mind and then looking at the final result in amazement.
I've blogged about this liquid lipstick before, so check out my review! This shade is "Beso" by Stila and I find myself layering with this one a bunch. I grew up wearing regular lipstick, so I haven't quite gotten in the habit of wearing liquid lipstick on its own.
The mini version of this lipstick currently retails for $12. I have the regular sized version, but I don't use much with each application. I feel confident that the miniature version will still last you a long time.
$8 Matte Lipstick + $12 Liquid Lipstick = $20 Cute Combination
The video really shows how the lipstick pops! I still love how it looks in pictures, but the video allows for you to see the true nature of the colors. Pair it with a smile and you're good!
Sweater: Crown & Ivy, Women's 1/4 Zip Sherpa Pullover (LT Tan)
Pants: Moondance, Challis Jogger Pants (Dried Basil)
Sneakers: Puma, Defy Mid Women's Training Shoes (Black & Gold)
Earrings: Simone I. Smith, Simplicity Hoops (Large)
The contrast between the red lip and my tan sweater paired well together. I picked this outfit up at the mall and wore it with a black shirt that I've had for years. Both the sweater and pants were on sale/clearance, so the outfit cost me $48.70 in total. I already had the shoes in my collection, so they were not included in the price of my outfit.
Both the makeup/lipstick and the outfit were last minute selections with little thought attached, but credit to my eye for pulling them together effortlessly!
