Like many of you, I have a hard time convincing myself to spend money on lipstick . . . when it's over $20. I have SO many red lipsticks in my collection, because it's my signature color. I always ask myself, why do you need one more? Truth is, why don't I need one more? At least my purchase led to this blog post!
I'm usually a true lipstick type of lady. You know? The kind that comes in the tube that you used to see your grandma putting on before that Sunday church service. However, I deviated from my norm and purchased a true red liquid lipstick.
Tiff Tip: Since it is a liquid texture, the best advice that I can offer you is to apply a light coat of a lip balm on your lips prior to application of the red. You'll thank me later, because no matter the brand, I've found that liquid lipsticks can dry out rather quick.
Details: In the picture above, I used a cream red lipstick as my base. I would share which one, but unfortunately it has been discontinued.

The shade of my liquid lipstick is "Beso" by Stila and the brand claims it does not bleed or transfer while also being weightless. Its enriching formula is infused with both avocado oil and vitamin E.
If you don't want to spend over $20 on lipstick, I completely understand. I'm sure that I don't need to either. The travel size is cheaper and could be a better option to purchase as you try it for the first time.
Tiffany's Take: I'm happy with my purchase! While it claims to last 12 hours, I never intended to wear it that long. I have probably worn it multiple times, for a maximum of five hours, and it held its own. It doesn't feel dry or crusty, which could be in part due to my base application of traditional lipstick. The coverage is more sheer and has a smoothness to it, so you could wear it without a base . . . but try that at your own risk.
The Shade in Action
I initially purchased this shade after watching this Vogue clip on YouTube where Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez mentioned this is the shade of red that she wears. This video was a relaxing view where she spoke about women empowerment regarding beauty. It looked like a pretty shade that is blue-based which is essentially cooler-toned, and in my opinion provides that bold red pop, without the shade being too bright or too dark.

I'm thinking about exploring more red lipsticks, and sharing them with you. Stay tuned!

I have so many lippies and have been trying to find the right red. I also struggle with getting my lipsticks to not transfer, even matte ones that claim they last all day. Any tips?

Thanks for reading this post! It definitely is a task to avoid lipstick transfer. I struggle with this too, but I do think wearing matte lipstick helps A LOT.
