Oh, and let's not forget about the selfies! Since we are on the topic of selfies, watch the video below that I created for a college assignment as a communication major. Down to the wire and nearing the due date, I checked out equipment from my college department and lugged it to and through campus, and ultimately on the Amtrak for hours over Easter Weekend 2014. I did not play about my grades! My younger cousins were home for the holiday and became my interns for the day.

What is your career field?
I am a corporate affairs professional, which essentially means I'm well versed in reputation management and stakeholder relations. I have experience in branding, marketing, communications (internal and external) and social responsibility, having worked across several industries (non-profit, government, and corporate). That function is a great blend of my educational background as my degrees are in communication, political science, and business.
Separately, I love managing my blog as my creative outlet! It's fair to say that I'm a creative person and I need to get creative ideas out of my head. This blog has been my peace through very difficult times in my life and for that I'm grateful!
It also helped me to think of myself as an entrepreneur. Blogging is not only a creative release, but it is a form of entrepreneurship! To further explore that part of me, I earned a certificate in Women's Entrepreneurship from Cornell University.

Which college & majors?
I graduated from North Carolina State University (NCSU) in 2015 with two degrees. A Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a concentration in Mass Media and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a concentration in Law and Justice.
Two degrees within fours years, and she graduated on time? Ohhh she's cute and she's smart. Haha.
I enrolled in graduate school during Fall 2020. Yeah, I know. Enrolling in school during the height of the coronavirus pandemic which added another layer of stress? Great idea.
Despite it being a stressful time, it worked out well for me. Colleges waived the GRE, so I was able to bypass the standardized test. Now, I'm on the road to earning a Master of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Digital Marketing.

Which Equipment do you use for Content?
I have a lot of equipment, but I didn't get it all at once. It happened gradually, mostly with the purchase of used equipment that helped with the price.
I stick with Canon equipment, because I'm in too deep! At this point, it would require too much money to switch to a different brand. If I'm not using my professional camera equipment, then I'm using my Samsung S22 phone. Yes, I'm team Android!

DIGITAL CAMERAS

The mini camera in the photo above is the Canon v10! This power puncher captures 4k video at 24fps and 30fps, and it can capture decent photos. My favorite part about carrying this one with me is that it draws less attention than a DSLR camera.
Another lightweight 4k camera in my collection is the Sony ZV-1. If I'm being honest, since I've really only used Canon cameras, this one is an adjustment settings wise. I still do think it's the best alternative to a DSLR camera, especially since cameras with removable lenses are allowed in some venues.
I purchased the Canon 90d in February 2021, so that I could start incorporating videos into my blog. This camera has crisp autofocus, great photo clarity, and 4k video! I also have the Canon BG-E14 Battery Grip to use with this camera.
This Canon T3i is my old faithful. I got it during my junior year of college and photos that I took from this camera helped me to earn a photojournalist internship at NCSU. I also have a Canon BG-E8 Battery Grip to use with this camera.
FILM CAMERAS
Most film cameras have been discontinued, so you will likely have to purchase a used camera if you're interested in a semi-to-professional film camera.
Film photos have such a classic look and bring back so many memories rom when I first became interested in photography. I bought the Canon Elan 7 because it looks like my DSLR camera. I also have the Canon BP-300 to use with this camera.
This Canon EOS 1V is their last professional film camera and it has 45-point autofocus, which matches the autofocus on my Canon 90d! The battery grip came was included when I purchased it, so my version is the Canon EOS IV HS.

What is your dream career?
I used to have a dream career, but right now I don't know if I dream of labor. I'm tired! Haha. However, I'm really good at communications, marketing, and philanthropy.
What is your favorite movie series?
I can't pick just one, because there were two movies from series that I loved to watch with my parents. The Equalizer with my mom and Shaft with my dad.
What is your favorite book?
The Alchemist. I first heard about this book in an interview Oprah did with Pharrell. It was probably my only leisure read in college and it did not disappoint. The fictional book follows a boy on his journey to reach his personal legend. It reminds you of the trials and tribulations that come with pursuing your destiny.

What is your favorite beauty product?
A bold red lipstick. It doesn't have to be a name brand as long as it's bold and beauTiFFul, then I'm fine. I've actually found a $3 matte red lipstick that lasted all day. Be on the lookout for posts on the beauty page to stay in the know!
What is your favorite sneaker?
Currently, it's the Jordan Flyknit Elevation 23 sneaker in red. It might be underrated, but I definitely boss up when they're on my feet. Plus, they are very comfortable and serve as a reminder that you don't have to compromise style for comfort.
