My first pair of Puma's did not disappoint. Online shopping will get you caught up so quickly, especially at night. Usually, I will browse at night, and note products that I admire, without cementing the purchase. Basically, I'm a window shopper. Then, if I wake up in the morning and still desire the product and have the means, operation "treat yo self" is in full effect.
Finish Line had a sale right before the onset of Summer 2019, which offered shoes nearly 50% off retail. A dream. Personally, I've found that this shoe pairs best with a solid color outfit mainly because it's so loud. My style is typically less bold, because my personality is so bold and bright. However, I might have to switch it up on folks in the future with the bold pairing of patterns. Now, if you feel that you could pull off a look with a patterned outfit and these sneakers, then by all means lead the way. I'll get out my pen and pad to take notes!
The caveat to online shopping, in my mind, is that there is little to no frame of reference for how the shoe will feel or even fit on your feet. Yet, I still get caught up in the excitement of tracking sales and new releases, placing an order online, and hoping for the best. I have a wider foot, so some of the dope shoes that come out aren't the most comfortable. Although, when I was younger my dad used shoe trees in his shoes and some extended for a wider shape. Stay tuned, because I'm going to test how that works on sneakers soon.
My first favorite thing about these shoes is that they were purchased for the price of $40, because they are Girls' Big Kids or Grade School (GS). I love to save my coins! It's important to remember that you don't have to go broke to look nice.
My second favorite thing about this pair is the overall detail. The pattern is unmatched. Bold and subtle at the same time. The heel counter is a beautifully executed gold that looks like money! You know, some attempts at gold on shoes are poorly executed, which ultimately cheapens the look of the shoe, but not for this Puma pair. The sole of the shoe displays a unique look and feels fun to run your fingers across, while its dual colored sole shows off a nice gum bottom.
Personally, the gum detail in the shoe helps me to better style my outfits as I paired it with the cherry colored dress that I purchased from Ross: Dress For Less because it had the light brown color in the center of the dress.
Last, but certainly not least is comfort. I know this definitely shouldn't be last on my list because comfort determines how often you wear a shoe. No one really wants to be that person with a closet full of uncomfortable shoes, but at the same time beauty is pain. Right? Be honest with yourself, you don't know the comfort level of a shoe when online shopping (at night), unless you dive deeply into YouTube reviews and read customer reviews on websites prior to the purchase. Sooooo . . . leave the judgment at the door. Haha
Flyknit shoes have become my new favorite, because the material allows for your feet to have less restriction than the shoe forming material that is found with leather sneakers, etc. I have some super cute basketball shoes that hurt after about an hour or two of wearing, because of their material. This pair doesn't have a loose or movable tongue, which makes it easier to slide right on your feet to brighten your confidence and stunt on the world!
How would you style this shoe?! Let me know in the comment section below.
