Let’s talk about Reclectic! The discount store owned by Urban Outfitters, sells clothes from brands like Anthropologie, Free People, etc. It’s grand opening took place in the Charlotte, NC area on February 7, 2025, at noon. The actual address is 10416 Centrum Pkwy, Pineville, NC 28134. Their product selection features new and slightly used clothing, home décor, shoes, and accessories.
I will note that when I asked a staff member about their used clothing, she shared that it’s clothing that has been returned with the tags still on them. Hopefully, folks that returned the clothes didn’t actually wear them with the tags still own. That would be trifling!

I was so determined to arrive at noon, but it took me longer than expected to get my day started and to set up my DJI Osmo Pocket 3 + Hollyland Lark M2 Wireless Mic that I used to vlog the experience. Needless to say, I’m so glad that I didn’t arrive when it opened. I heard from several people that the line was wrapped around the block all the way to Home Depot. Now, if you’re not familiar with that shopping center, just know that it is far! People who arrived that early mentioned they waited hours to enter the store. My attempt to get in line featured a false start that is featured in my lasted YouTube video shown below.
After a food break, I circled back to the shopping center and got in line. It took about an hour to get into the store. I started near Guitar Center, which was three stores down from Reclectic. The time went by quickly as I met several nice people when I was in line and we just about chatted the entire hour. When it was time to enter the store, a security guard asked how many were in my party and cleared me to enter. It is my assumption that this was an experience to be reduced to the grand opening. I don’t think on a normal day that a security guard would need to give you permission to enter and begin shopping.
Once I entered, a staff member greeted me and gave me a Reclectic bag that displayed the “Re” portion of their logo that was to be used for placing items as I shopped. It’s similar to when you enter Bath & Body Works and they give you a temporary bag to place your candles, perfumes, etc. The Reclectic shoulder bag was pretty hefty and fit all of the items that interested me while browsing. Some ladies did have several bags, but that wasn’t necessary for me. I more so went to check out the store rather than to fill my closet with a bunch of new items.
The above sign was placed upon entry of the store. It’s “Before You Shop” notes were helpful. Most important to note is that they do not have fitting rooms and all sales are final. This made shopping challenging since I wore a sweater that day. It made it more difficult to know if clothing that I tried on, over my clothes, was tight because it was tight or if it was tight because of my sweater. I purposely didn’t purchase pants, because my sizes vary so much. I opted to wait until I reviewed my closet for the pant size that I wear a majority of the time.
Since I did go in the evening, because it was too hot to stand in line during the day, I do think a lot of the great items were gone. There were still nice items in the store, but for whatever reason it was HOT in there. I’m not sure why it was 70+ degrees in February. I’m also not sure if they had the air conditioning on in there, but it was so hot in the store that they were passing out free water and Red Bull for shoppers. I literally needed two water bottles while shopping and was still dehydrated. On the bright side, I slept so well that night! On the other side, it made it harder to shop that day because I wanted to get in and out of the store. The latter was hard because the line was so long. It took about an hour for me to get through the checkout line to the register. The Staff
Overall, I found the staff to be nice. I do respect the fact that they were working hard and in a physically hot environment with so much going on at once. There is always one person that’s questionable, but again that could be due to the grand opening being hectic. Several of them were working several hours overtime. One staff member let me know that management bought them lunch for their first major day, so that was great! There was one woman in particular that helped me do process of elimination on the things that I wanted to buy, another who supported my vlogging, and another who grabbed me a water bottle while I was in the checkout line. He actually brought a bunch for others as well and they were so glad that I asked for more water.
The Products
I thought the products were nice. Again, as I mentioned and as you saw in my vlog, it was hard to concentrate due to the high temperature in the store. I do feel like it’s a step up from your average discount store like a T.J. Maxx or Marshalls. However, the product offerings likely cater to a different audience. I saw a lot of casual clothing in Reclectic. There was also a good selection of business clothing, but it might have required more of a deeper look. Given that there was a good selection of overstock products from stores in Urban Outfitters' brand family, I did see clothing in there that reminded me of Anthropologie and its shopping experience. So, it’s in line with their objective of offering similar products for less money.
The Store
It is a pretty nice sized store. I cannot remember the previous store that occupied the building, but it does look like there were renovations done. You can get a mini feel for the store based on my below photos.
The Prices
I spent $134.06 on three casual clothing items.
The brand’s name isn’t on the vest, but I buy products that are cute and not based on the brand. It didn’t bother me that I didn’t know the brand. At the same time, it would have been nice to know so that I could keep an eye out for more of their clothes.
I did notice there seemed to be a mark, rather a streak on the dress, and its selections in this style. Another shopper shared that she wouldn’t have noticed it if I didn’t point it out and that is probably why this dress was in the discount store. Makes sense!
This was my most expensive item. However, $60 for Pilcro is actually a good deal. A quick search of Pilcro on Anthroplogie’s website will show tops for over $100. The outfit shown below from my Goodbye Skinny Jeans, Hello Barrel Jeans! | Outfit Inspo blog post featured a Pilcro top and bottom that I purchased at Anthropologie, which costed me more than $100 each.
Overall Experience
When it’s all said and done, I had a good time. Grand openings are known to be chaotic or exciting, depending on your point of view. To that extent, they did not disappoint. Would I return to purchase more clothes? Yes! However, I do plan to wait a bit longer for the hype to calm down. If I’m looking for a stylish option to wear to dinner, a sporting event, or the movies, I could see myself returning to Reclectic!
