For the past decade, it is safe to say that I have only opted for skinny jeans if I wore jeans. Probably even longer if we're being honest. However, part of getting older includes evolving and allowing yourself to be open to new things and new opportunities. Hence, barrel jeans!

Exhibit A:
My decision to try barrel jeans was not one of regret! For one, I had breathing room. As much as I like a good skinny jean, they are tight and depending on the fabric, it can be even harder to move around. I was pleasantly surprised being able to move around without restrictions, in style! It definitely helped because I needed to get to the Duke's Mayo Classic (NC State vs. Tennessee) game by a certain time, so I was booking it down the bleachers to make it on the field 1.5 hours before kickoff to use my pre-game field pass. The jeans moved with me and I never felt any discomfort.
I bought them from Anthropologie! It was my first time shopping in that store and it was fun. The staff were helpful and offered nice suggestions as I shopped. My goal for my outfit was to find something that complemented my shoes. I graduated from North Carolina State University with bachelors degrees, so I wanted a fit that would match my NCSU adidas sneakers to show my school pride. They are gray, white, and red with small details that highlight NC State. Go Wolfpack!

adidas Ultraboost 1.0 Running Shoe | I bought mine in 2022 during an NCAA special release. However, I linked the standard colorways above. I love my adidas Ultraboost 1.0! I actually have three pairs in total, in various colors, because what is life without variety?
I knew most NC State alum/fans would be wearing red, so I opted for a gray top. I don't think that I've owned a top that was a sweater and a shirt wrapped in one, so it stood out to me the most. I wasn't aiming for a baggy look, but I was aiming for a look that didn't cling to me. As much as I look a good outfit that does, this time it wasn't my mood.

1) Clear Bag
If you're going to a large event, whether it's a stadium or an arena, you will most likely need a clear bag to be in compliance with their policies. I bought mine (pictured above) from Altar'd State, but they do not offer it anymore.
I did find similar options that could work as an alternative:
2) Camera + Microphone
Sure, you could use your phone because it has a camera and built-in microphone. Yet, I've found that I love a good mini camera and external mic that brings quality to the next level. I bought the Canon V10 (pictured above) before attending this football game and thoroughly enjoyed using it with the Saramonic XR-XM1 Compact Mic.
The camera captured 4k video and the mini mic got great audio, especially for its size, as my voice still picked up in a huge stadium.

I vlogged during the game on my refurbished Canon V10! I bought mine refurbished and saved more $100+. If you're looking to save money, or just love a good sale, buying used or refurbished is a great option. Mine was still eligible for extended warranty coverage, too.
3) A Great Lipstick
Whenever I go out and about, I love wearing a beautiful lipstick and great smelling perfume. Since I cannot remember which perfume I wore this day, I'm going to focus on the lipstick!
In the spirit of combos, I did apply a combination of shades to get a beautiful long-lasting lip color. I lined and filled in my lips with Ruby Woo by MAC Cosmetics and then applied Beso by Stila Cosmetics. After the latter, I tapped my lips, focusing on slightly blending the two colors together. It lasted during the game, surviving me going back for seconds of Bojangles' Chicken Supremes with honey mustard.

Honorable Mention: Mascara
I RARELY wear fake eyelashes, so I love a good mascara. I didn't apply many coats of the Super Fan Lash Lengthening Mascara and it still stood out well! You can see it better in my vlog posted above.
I first learned of the product on my 30th birthday. I was eating at a restaurant and the waitress' natural eyelashes looked great. Luckily, she shared the name of the product. Since Ulta Beauty was in the same area, I bought the mascara after I finished dining. It has worked great for me ever since and I'll continue to recommend it to others. Side Note: Remember when I mentioned that having a good mini camera will provide better quality than a phone? The photo directly above was taken on the V10, while some others throughout this post where captured with my phone. Huge difference in quality!
Overall, the Duke's Mayo Classic was great! NC State lost the game . . . by A LOT. The best part was definitely the environment, taking photos on the field, and finding my way to a suite with some of my favorites.
