In all my days of living, especially as a toddler, I rocked an afro. Now, that’s getting gentrified too? Lord, help us all.
Vogue. Please come to the front of the congregation. There I was scrolling online, minding my own Black business, and I noticed they gentrified the afro. A line has to be drawn in the sand. For context, on April 14, 2026, Vogue published an article titled 17 Flattering Haircuts for Thick Hair, No Matter Your Texture or Length. If you click the article, you will notice that it has since been changed to 16 hairstyles instead of the original 17, allegedly. That was due to the faux pas including the style of a “Cloud Bob,” showing a picture of Tracee Ellis Ross with an afro.

Yet, My One-Piece Swimsuit Remained Unscathed Down A Rock Waterslide In Puerto Rico

A good swimsuit is hard to find! Not only a good looking one, but one that’s good quality. With quality comes price. For years, I have been hanging onto the same one that I purchased from H&M in college. Mind you, I graduated from undergrad more than a decade ago. Outside of the one’s that I purchased there; I made blind buys while online shopping from Victoria’s Secret during the pandemic, although they didn’t fit, they never found their way to get returned. After taking that loss, I was determined to find a swimsuit win, albeit four years later.
My ole faithful one-piece that I love is in black and as I praise throughout this site, I am determined to live my life in color. While I love a good bikini, I knew that wasn’t going to make the roster for my most recent trip to Puerto Rico. Given that I haven’t flown on a plane since I was a teenager, my main goal was to get myself there, safely. I wanted to eat my way through the city of San Juan, without worrying about if my belly button would be protruding out while wear said bikini. All of me was going to be covered more than usual and that shift was freeing. Having a brick-and-mortar store near me that only focuses on swimwear is a plus, and that gave me extra room to procrastinate because I knew that I could go in there the day before beginning my travel and I would be just fine.

Let’s talk about Reclectic! The discount store owned by Urban Outfitters, sells clothes from brands like Anthropologie, Free People, etc. It’s grand opening took place in the Charlotte, NC area on February 7, 2025, at noon. The actual address is 10416 Centrum Pkwy, Pineville, NC 28134. Their product selection features new and slightly used clothing, home décor, shoes, and accessories.
I will note that when I asked a staff member about their used clothing, she shared that it’s clothing that has been returned with the tags still on them. Hopefully, folks that returned the clothes didn’t actually wear them with the tags still on. That would be trifling!

For the past decade, it is safe to say that I have only opted for skinny jeans if I wore jeans. Probably even longer if we're being honest. However, part of getting older includes evolving and allowing yourself to be open to new things and new opportunities. Hence, barrel jeans!

I’m really leaning into playing with color. I’ve typically worn dark colors. I don’t know if there was a specific reason, but black goes with so much that it is a more versatile option. While a black outfit paired with a red lip is undefeated, I really want to live my life in color! Now, I fully understand that I have black pants on in this outfit but hear me out. I didn’t want to wear jeans to the Duke’s Mayo Bowl game, because I don’t wear them a lot. I usually wear athleisure, because it’s a great on the go option. As you can imagine, when I saw the faux leather joggers it was OVER. I knew they were mine! Haha. I then began to plan my outfit around the pants.

Are you ready kids? Aye aye captain . . . I can't hear you!!! Kyrie did not have to put his foot on our necks with this Nike/ Nickelodeon / Spongebob Squarepants collaboration. Back in high school, I used to rock a Spongebob backpack and went by the name TiFFbob Thickpants, thank you very much! I might have also had that as my signature on my text messages at the time too. If you don't know what that means, then there is a strong possibility that you're too young for me. Haha

My first pair of Puma's did not disappoint. Online shopping will get you caught up so quickly, especially at night. Usually, I will browse at night, and note products that I admire, without cementing the purchase. Basically, I'm a window shopper. Then, if I wake up in the morning and still desire the product and have the means, operation "treat yo self" is in full effect.

We all have a sneaker story if we dig deep in our brain to remember, whether you get one pair of sneakers a year, only own one pair, or get multiple pairs of sneakers a month. When I was younger, my mom used to take me to the Kohl's down the street, and allowed for me to get a new pair of sneakers each school year. Sometimes, I got lucky and we caught a sale. It was go time then because she let me get two pair! Typically, I opted for a white pair and a black pair, because at that time I was convinced that white or black went with anything. I can still argue that case to this day, but I will refrain before the fashionista's rush to the comments.
