It seems like most of us are getting to the point where we’re dealing with muscle pain. That could be due to age, injury, or just the grind of working out consistently. It could be all of the above for me. However, I’m determined to live my life – pain free. This meant letting go of my fear of needles to give dry needling a try during physical therapy.
Betting on yourself and giving yourself permission to fail is no easy feat. It requires confidence in your abilities and calls on you to squeeze out every ounce of courage before making the leap, especially in a field as competitive as sports. An eat or be eaten type of environment. For physical therapist, Dr. Ron Weathers, there came a time when there was no other option but to venture out and create his own brand. “Everything I’ve done up until this point . . . has prepared me for this next step in my life,” he recalled. A groundbreaking professional, with a resume that will knock your socks off. But, please, keep them on your feet. He’s worked for reputable organizations such as Duke University, the Orlando Magic, and the Los Angeles Lakers. Yet, the pinnacle of his career is serving as Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Embodi Physical Therapy (PT) and Sports Performance.
What's up, MoTiFFated Mavens? I think that is new name for the So MoTiFFated community! I'm checking in to see how things are going with you these days. The whole COVID-19 situation is truly scary. It seems people are getting sick left and right, and somehow that isn't enough to convince other people to stay home and stay safe and to only go out unless they're an essential worker or when they need essential items like food, grocery, and household items. Ridiculous. STAY HOME!!
Let me tell you, 2019 seemed so long though it was full of some wins, near the end it seemed like it was filled with more lessons. My main takeaway from the year was for me to invest more into myself, and to begin to set more boundaries that allow for me to be a better me, a stronger me. I have noticed that while I enjoy helping people, that cannot be my only sense of joy. For the longest time, I gained so much pleasure out of working out, especially in college. Would you believe I actually had people requesting to go to the gym with me, better yet – I even had people requesting for me to be their trainer!
