You deserve luxury experiences. You are here on this site because you are deciphering which Charlotte, NC spa would fit you best. Whether you are seeking a one-time treat, standing appointment spa service, a hotel vacation, or staycation, choosing between a city-center penthouse and a sprawling suburban retreat is more than a matter of geography. It is a strategic play for your peace of mind.

In the world of high-end hospitality, Marriott’s luxury brand portfolio is vast, and its properties like The Ritz-Carlton and The Ballantyne offer far more than just a room to lay your head. Their spa experiences are a gift that melts away your stress. It doesn’t matter if you are a budget bougie traveler or a local boss who is looking to reclaim her time. You are investing in your own recalibration.
As a Charlotte native, I naturally gravitated to spas in my city to celebrate special occasions. Then, I realized that living and breathing is the occasion. I pride myself on prioritizing self-care, but there are some services that need to be outsourced. A massage, for me, is one of them. Having tried the plug-in massage pads to relieve stress, I just needed more. Over the past decade, I have incorporated monthly spa appointments in my self-care routine and my body is thankful.

There have been two places that I have frequented over the years: The Spa at Ballantyne and The Ritz-Carlton Spa, Charlotte. The former being a four-star hotel that is located in its own suburb of Ballantyne in Charlotte, while the latter is a five-star hotel in the heart of downtown Charlotte and feels more like a penthouse retreat.

If you are seeking an incredibly thorough breakdown of each spa, give these stories a read:

This article will give you what you need, without being long enough to put you to sleep. Let the battle of the spas begin!

CHOOSING YOUR SANCTUARY IN THE QUEEN CITY

Although I live in the 14th largest city in the U.S., I always see it as my home. It doesn’t always feel big to me, unless I make my way downtown. I know for Charlotte, you see that area referred to as “uptown” often, but growing up, that isn’t what natives called center city. I’m someone who likes to be in the mix, while having the option to remain lowkey.
BALLANTYNE SPA
The Spa at Ballantyne gives me that option for discreetness.

Ballantyne is becoming more inclusive than it was historically. Previously, it felt stuffy and exclusive and for good reason. A staple of that area was a golf course hosted just behind the hotel. It gave country club vibes, and if you’ve ever been near one, then I don’t have to explain anything further. If not, just think of what you have seen in movies such as Beverly Hills Cop or Bringing Down the House.

A few years ago, the golf course was torn down as part of Ballantyne Reimagined, an initiative to create a more urban walkable community. As someone who worked for the City of Charlotte for six years, I can attest to the work being done to make this city more inclusive and welcoming.

The area now includes The Bowl at Ballantyne, with Stream Park located just behind the hotel. That addition changed the game. Before the park, sitting on the patio outside the indoor pool felt like a contact sport. You practically had to duck for cover to avoid a golf ball flying at what seemed like a thousand miles per hour.

Now, you can relax on that same patio or walk a few steps further to put your feet in the park’s faux grass. I have always felt safe here, but the addition of park guards patrolling the grounds adds an extra layer of security. While the upgrades brought more traffic and a shift to paid parking, the hotel still prioritizes the guest experience. The spa area is no longer a shortcut for the public, and your parking is seamlessly validated when you check out.
RITZ-CARLTON SPA
The Ritz definitely gives the vibes of being seen. Its penthouse energy starts the moment you pull into the mandatory valet and continues as you navigate your ascent to the spa lobby on the 17th floor. You have to walk past the hotel lobby and its first-floor restaurant to get to the elevator. Adding an extra layer of perceived pressure on day meant for relaxation.

Tiffany Johnson / So MoTiFFated
They’re known to host high-profile guests including professional sports teams, corporate executives, and those who like to treat themselves like you and me. On the day that I was checking out of the hotel following my MBA graduation staycation, they had all of the above in attendance. It was the brisk of winter, so I was in full lounge wear, socks with flip flops, while seeing their clientele in the lobby and was still completely confident in myself. Being in that natural state and still getting hit on will always be a fun memory for me. It proves that at The Ritz, the energy is always high-stakes, even when you are trying to lay low.
TIFFANY’S TAKEAWAY
Which one you prefer depends on your personality or how your mood might sway on the day of your appointment. Personally, I love that Ballantyne’s Spa has its own nook in the hotel where it lives on its own island. You never have to venture out to the main hotel lobby as its clientele is prestige as well, even hosting President Barack Obama during the Democratic National Convention in 2012. Having their own nook, means having their own elevators and stairs.

The funny encounter at The Ritz, where that man was sweet on me, happened as I was leaving the spa on the 17th floor. He worked for the professional sports team staying at the hotel, on a nearby floor, and didn’t realize he got on an elevator going up. We made playful conversation to avoid the awkward moment as we journeyed down many floors to reach the lobby. It’s the type of occurrence that only happened because their spa shares elevators with the rest of the hotel.

Personally, I see The Spa at Ballantyne as a place where I’m going to relax completely.  Them having their own parking lot makes for a smooth entry and exit process. As someone who is very independent, I prefer to drive my own car, coming and going as I please. The Ritz having mandatory valet is a huge change for me, having to wait to leave my car and for it to be driven back to me once I’m ready to leave. They move quickly as wait times aren’t long, but it still adds more time to the day. For access reasons, Ballantyne wins.

Though, The Ritz has a definite leg up as it honors special occasions without an additional charge to your service. Those chocolate covered strawberries are enough to make you forget about the hassle that comes from being new to valet. Honestly, having valet service on your spa day is something that most women would be enticed by, so for that reason The Ritz is a winner too.

THE AMENITIES MAKE THE PLACE

When selecting a spa, it is important to note its amenities. Think about it, after your service which may be an hour and a half, for the sake of your nervous system, you’ll want to hang around. That usually leads to lounging by the pool or taking advantage of a lounge. I know for me, if I’m dropping $200 on a spa day, then I’m making it a day. I’m so serious. The way I know the name of spa staff, and they look forward to seeing me monthly, should be studied!

Sometimes I do stretch it too far, knowing that they offer day access on the day of service. If you need to run out somewhere, you’re able to return and chill. I cannot attest to how The Ritz handles parking, if you’re in and out. That day that I was in-and-out, I was staying in the hotel and checking out, so my parking was assigned to my room.
BALLANTYNE SPA
So MoTiFFated Founder & Editor-in-Chief Tiffany J., MBA, enjoying the outdoor patio space at The Ballantyne.

As you can see, my face and skin are glowing with joy during my day at The Spa at Ballantyne. This was post-massage, in the chill wind gusts of October, squeezing in the last bit of access before they closed the outdoor pool for the season. What I love best about their amenities is that they are all accessible on one floor. Yes, my selfie was taken on the balcony, but there is another route that takes you straight from the indoor to the outdoor pool. The space on the balcony has few tables, and after years of seeing it, I finally took advantage and it was so peaceful. I can now say that I have taken advantage of all of the amenities offered in the Ballantyne Spa.
Lounge
Quiet relaxation lounge with neutral-toned seating and natural light, designed for pre- and post-treatment relaxation at The Ballantyne.
Photo: Tiffany Johnson / So MoTiFFated
Their lounge is one of their most frequented spaces. This is because most ladies wait in the lounge for their name to be called by their service specialist. While I’m open to different spa services, it seems like I solely go for massages. I’m doing better about slowing myself down, being an overachiever like me, it’s hard to sit still. If you’re feeling the same way, I spoke more about it in my blog article: Although Life is Complicated, Don’t Rush Your Life. That being said, I’m usually rushing for my spa service and my masseuse doesn’t come inside the lounge for me. They also wait outside the lounge for you if you’re leaving from the locker room or the restroom.

However, the lounge is a frequent hang for myself after spa services, because it’s a quiet place to rest and it’s a place that is restricted to 18+ years old. While I think children are God’s gift to this earth, I want peace and quiet during my spa days, and this is one of the few places where you can kick your feet up and relax in that way.
Sauna

Photo: Tiffany Johnson / So MoTiFFated
This sauna is reflective of a typical one. What I appreciate is the 15-minute sand timer that is located in the upper right-hand corner of the picture. It’s the only timer that I have while using this space, because it gets way too hot. I used to bring my phone in there but I realized that my spa days are the days that I look forward to unplugging. Also, it just kept overheating and wasn’t worth the damage to my phone. I stopped wearing jewelry in there too, because it got extremely hot and my gold felt like it was burning my skin.

The sauna really is a space for you to relax and just exist. No phone. No jewelry. Just you allowing your body to release toxins.
Cooling Station
A luxury cooling station at The Spa at Ballantyne, featuring chilled towels and refreshing amenities for post-sauna and steam room recovery.
Photo: Tiffany Johnson / So MoTiFFated
I mentioned the heat is real. Located to the right of what I call “heat row,” that host the sauna and the steam room, there is a bowl filled with ice and cool towels. This cooling sensation is much needed after you have literally been sweating your heart out.
Steam Room
The entrance to the eucalyptus-infused steam room, highlighting the clean, modern tile work and therapeutic atmosphere.
Photo: Tiffany Johnson / So MoTiFFated
It took me years to build up the courage to use the steam room. I wasn’t feeling its wet heat and thought it would be too hot. Plus, the movies had me scarred. Seeing all those folks in the steam room without clothes, and if they had them . . . barely. I felt like that was a thing. For the most part that is a myth, except for the lady that let it all hang out and didn’t care who was nearby. That scenario was definitely an outlier. I definitely didn’t go in that day.

However, a month later, I gave it a try as I wanted to prevent a summer cold from starting. The eucalyptus team that is in there is very hot, but it also felt like it released pressure on my sinuses. It has since become a part of my spa amenities routine, using it after the sauna to get every out of muscle tightness out of my body.
Waterworks  (Indoor Pool, Hot Tub, Outdoor Pool)
One of the biggest things setting Ballantyne Spa apart from The Ritz is its pool scene including an outdoor pool. If you’re someone that loves getting Vitamin D from the sun and not a prescription, this location is for you. Also, no judgement. Being a Black woman, I know how hard it is to naturally get Vitamin D. Having pigmented skin makes it more difficult for its production in my skin. I’m happily take that vitamin and still sitting by the pool outside, protecting myself with Black Girl Sunscreen, which smells great and doesn’t leave a white cast upon application.
A large indoor grotto style swimming pool with vaulted white ceilings and stone pillars overlooking a garden through large windows.
Photo: Tiffany Johnson / So MoTiFFated
They have a large indoor pool that is beautiful and its temperature leans cold. To its left, used to be a smaller pool but they tore it down, added more seating, and a rectangular hot tub. This area is in hotel guest territory, so it’s open to hotel patrons and their children. I used to love reading out here, and still do during the weekdays and when school is in session. Cowabunga is a real thing and folks still shout it before diving in the pool. Respectfully, I pass when it’s crowded.
A bubbling indoor whirlpool hot tub positioned next to floor to ceiling windows with a view of a Stream Park and The Bowl at Ballantyne being built.
Photo: Tiffany Johnson / So MoTiFFated
This area is more my scene as I love heat. The hot tub has a sign to its right that has an age requirement for safety reasons. There is a button that you push as well for it to start the bubbles and they typically last 15 minutes. That’s the recommendation, but being real I restart the bubbles and stay in there as long as my body can handle. This isn’t a routine staple in my spa visits anymore, because I don’t love showering in public places, so make it a point to reduce water activities.
Shower

Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, I used these showers more often as the hot tub was mandatory. Since then, I decided that I was fine showering once I got home. The frequency that people use these showers, coupled with seeing other folks hair in the drain from time-to-time, put the pin in it for me.

However, they get the job done. They’re an older style, and have Molton Brown products, which is a prestigious brand that smells rich.

As I have been to both spas, producing this article is the first time that I’ve put the pictures together side-by-side and it’s obvious that The Ritz’s multi-million-dollar upgrades that took place in 2023 are the clear winner. Just keep reading and you’ll see their shower. That alone could influence your decision of spas. I have heard rumors that Ballantyne Spa might be getting upgrades, but as of now they are just whispers.

Not featured in these pictures is their hotel gym’s boxing bag. There was someone in that area during that time, and I prioritize respect when capturing photography. I’m a boxing fan. I took personal boxing lessons for a while and used to adore watching the press conferences, weigh-is, the whole gamut. That is what lead me to use this gym the first time. Years ago, I was so loose after my massage that I decided to use my boxing gloves that I brought with me. Once I started hitting the bag, I realized that was a rookie mistake. It made me sore all over again. From that point forward, I vowed that if I were to work out on a spa day, I would only do high-intensity workouts prior to my spa services. I haven’t worked out on spa day since, but they do have nice equipment including a Peloton bike.

The multi-million-dollar upgrade to The Ritz-Carlton Charlotte, Spa is so apparent in my selfie above. From the countertops to the sink’s hardware to the mirror to the lighting, it screams luxury. This picture captured my first time visiting this spa and the lighting set it off. The services that I got that day truly made me feel like the queen that I am. It couldn’t have come at a better time. I was overworked and undervalued. I was leading a major project for a billion-dollar organization as the only minority on the team. Every time I turned around, someone was either taking credit or giving it to someone else for my work. That annoyance, paired with an intense MBA semester, meant I needed stress relief more than I realized. This selfie is proof that I chose me then and I’m still choosing me now as a full-time entrepreneur.
Lounge

Their lounge is very Instagram-able. It isn’t a place that I have utilized, because I’m still learning how to slow down, so by the time that I arrive I’m making myself ready for my masseuse call my name. That coffee table is super cute. The couch gives me more love seat vibes than the longer couches that I’m used to at Ballantyne Spa, so I opt to chill in their lengthier couches by the hot tub instead.
Sauna
A classic dry sauna featuring tiered L-shaped wooden benches and a stainless-steel heater with a protective metal grid.
Photo: Tiffany Johnson / So MoTiFFated
Their sauna is also a standard sauna and has its controls on the outside. Funny story, the first time that I utilized their sauna it seemed room temperature. I asked the lady how long she’d been in there and she was there for a good minute. I then went outside and kicked up the temperature so it would be hot enough for me to break a sweat. We joked about how comfortable she looked in there before and how there wasn’t one drop of sweat on her face. I stayed in there for a bit, until the spa attendant came to find me to bring my complimentary drink. I don’t drink alcohol, but their orange juice was on point.
Cooling Station
A dedicated cooling station outside the traditional dry sauna featuring black bowls filled with ice and rolled towels, alongside pump bottles of lotion and a stack of clean white towels against a granite wall.
Photo: Tiffany Johnson / So MoTiFFated
Their cooling station is also aesthetically pleasing at it has its own designated countertop, unlike Ballantyne Spa that has it on a stand in a corner. The benefits are the same as moving from the dry sauna heat to using this station creates a vasodilation and vasoconstriction process in the body. That allows our bodies to flush out toxins, minimize inflammation, and give our minds and skin the glow we need. Outside of knowing the specific health benefits it brings, these towels just feel good.

The Ritz-Carlton Spa, Charlotte also has a steam room. However, it isn’t included in this review because I didn’t utilize it nor did I take its photograph. I was still too scared to use steam rooms then, and haven’t been back since my MBA graduation. I guess it’s time for another visit. If their hotel and spa’s marketing and communication’s team is reading this article, let’s talk business!
Himalayan Salt Room
A view inside the Himalayan salt room at The Ritz-Carlton, Charlotte, featuring backlit amber salt brick walls, a wooden bench, and a modern silver water dispenser.

This room will steal the show for me every time. Its glow is illuminating and makes me wish that I had a room just like this in my house. The way that I’m cranking out these articles these days, that desire is already on the way for me! Surprisingly, this room isn’t hot. It’s actually rather cool.

My mind is very imaginative and for that reason, I imagined this room being like a glowing sauna. It’s actually quite the opposite. Himalayan Salt is known to have many minerals, such as potassium and magnesium that contribute to calming your nerves. When resting in the room, I bring my spa robe and several white towels, all provided by the spa. It helps to soften the hardness, as I lay my body across the bench. As much as I love this room, it does have a layer of uncomfortableness, because where do you rest your head? We all know that Himalayan rocks are not smooth, so I keep a towel behind my head when I want to sit upright.

Regardless, this room is still my favorite because it has plain water. Fancy spas love to have fruit-infused water and I’m a simple woman. I want crisp plain water to refresh my palette. So, this is my secret weapon after leaving the heat of the sauna and needing an internal cool down.
Shower

Their shower is gorgeous! Like I mentioned earlier, I’m not big on using public showers so this one hasn’t seen me yet. However, the hydrotherapy jets on this bad boy are another reason why my return to this spa is imminent. For those using the hot tub or sauna, this is perfect for you to wash the play away, prior to you heading home for a continued good day.
Waterworks  (Indoor Pool & Hot Tub)

Photo: Tiffany Johnson / So MoTiFFated
This skyline is so beautiful! I captured this photo on my android phone, but it looks like it was snatched out of a magazine. While I haven’t made my way to the cold pool, its lounge chairs have definitely seen me several times. The area is often quite and is the perfect place to put on your earphones and watch your favorite tv show or listen to songs that you love. I caught myself last time, because I was about to doze off on those chairs in public, and I forced myself to head on home.
A bubbling hydrotherapy hot tub at the Ritz-Carlton Charlotte spa featuring tiered waterfall spouts and views of the city skyline.
Photo: Tiffany Johnson / So MoTiFFated
This hot tub’s view is magnificent. Looking into the view of Charlotte’s skyscrapers, I never know if corporate folks can see me in my bikini or an Everything But Water swimsuit. However, it’s a good time. Sitting in the pool chairs behind this area is another one of my favorite places to chill. Folks don’t use it too frequently, so it’s not a loud area, but I do advise you to bring pair of headphones so that you can stay in your own world.

Learning from my rookie mistake at the Ballantyne Hotel gym, I didn’t even think about working out in this gym during my several visits to The Ritz-Carlton Hotel. Though, their space seems very intentional. It doesn’t host the fancier equipment like Ballantyne having a Peloton. However, The Ritz’s space did make me want to go for a workout. The intentional chamber with warm towels was the icing on the cake. Will I ever decide to workout on a spa day? You’ll have to follow my YouTube to find out for yourself!

MY FAVORITE MASSAGES

BALLANTYNE SPA
A peaceful massage treatment room bathed in calming purple chromotherapy lighting with a prepared massage table and skin care products.
Photo: Tiffany Johnson / So MoTiFFated
They have certain rooms with LED lights and you can request your color. I adore their lavender massage, which is now called the Lavender Haven Massage Ritual, so I opted for the color purple. Years ago, it was called the Carolina Lavender Massage and that was amazing because it came with hot stones. Unfortunately, my body has a tendency to hold stress, so I need stones to work out the kinks. I’ve been doing a much better job of releasing stress on my own, but me and hot stones are besties now.

As a result of their lavender massage no longer coming with stones, I switched to the Mountain Stone Massage Ritual and it’s only available for 75 minutes. Although its five minutes shorter than the standard 80-minute massage, it does feel longer. When you have a great masseuse, and you’re a regular client, they know your body and don’t have to use in-session time to learn how to knead out your stress.

RITZ-CARLTON SPA

For whatever reason, when I attend this spa, I’m much more present. It very well could be the 5-Star tag associated with its brand. I have yet to take my phone back to the room, but am glad to paint the picture for you. You are on the 17th floor of an extravagant hotel. The atmosphere in this space is defined by a sophisticated interplay of light and linear design. The high ceilings are anchored by warm, honey-toned wood paneling that adds a grounded, architectural weight to the room. Along the expansive windows, those staggered linen privacy panels act as a soft filter for the North Carolina sun, catching the light in a way that feels intentional rather than accidental. This layered approach to the window treatments creates a rhythmic, monolithic silhouette against the glass, casting an ethereal glow across the mid-century inspired furnishings. Plush, slate-colored seating is arranged to encourage a quiet pause, while the subtle texture of the flaxen fabric scrims balances the clean, sharp lines of the perimeter. The beautiful part is that none of that matters once your service begins. Face down on the massage table, your eyes will naturally close and your tension finally releases.

A MENU MEANT FOR FOODIES?

BALLANTYNE SPA
A fresh turkey, bacon, and lettuce tortilla wrap served patio side The Ballantyne Hotel, highlighting the luxury dining options available during a spa visit.
Photo: Tiffany Johnson / So MoTiFFated
Giving yourself the opportunity to experience luxury is full is always my mindset. When there were limited food options near The Ballantyne Hotel, I frequently ordered from their menu, spending my post-service hours on their patio just outside the indoor pool. That was a thrill in itself, because I got to people watch and see folks golfing while dodging fly balls. Now, the addition of Steam Park still allows for the people watching aspect and trust me, your eyes will be full. You can still indulge in their on-site menu as it remains a reliable light luxury.

Take this turkey and greens wrap for instance, it is fresh, crisp, and exactly what you want after a detoxifying service. Be mindful, when ordering poolside, it comes with the expected luxury tax of an automatic 20% gratuity and a curated, limited menu.

Since I have experienced their on-site luxury in full, I now venture off to continue to experience The Bowl at Ballantyne. There lineup offers high-end restaurants in proximity and it’s walkable. That five-minute walk where I further stretch my joints and feel the wind on my skin has become a welcomed part of my spa day routine. There, you can tip at your own preference. Remember, the more convenient things are to you, the higher price you’ll pay in life but especially at day spas.

If you’re set on staying on-site to get the true staycation vibes, but don’t want to order poolside, you’re still in luck. Dunbar Social opened in an arm of the hotel in October 2025. I have visited the restaurant and peeked at their menu, it gives sophisticated social hub, and I look forward to giving it a taste. Until then, the transition from the quiet of the spa to the energy of The Bowl remains my favorite spa day break.

RITZ-CARLTON SPA

Unlike Ballantyne Spa being near a walkable community, The Ritz’ is the complete opposite in my eyes. Being newer to the penthouse vibe made me feel like Rapunzel trapped in a tower, I know that’s dramatic but welcome to my mind. Having worked in downtown Charlotte for six years, I know there are food options present, but walking through the daily commotion of corporate workers, tourists, and fighting traffic to safely cross the crosswalks, I make it a point to stay put in The Ritz-Carlton, Charlotte. There is also the fact that your car is valeted, so getting in and out is much more time consuming, and when you’re hangry you don’t have time for that at all.

You may have guessed by now that I love light options on spa days, and turkey is the easiest for me. The Ritz was great about customizing my food choice. I swapped pork bacon for turkey bacon in my sandwich, and fries over the house chips.
A decadent red velvet cupcake with cream cheese frosting served in a black dish against a backdrop of city high-rise windows.

Their dessert is great too and I love their red velvet cupcake. I previously ordered one with my poolside meal, but for my MBA graduation they surprised me with this delicacy. Typically, they offer chocolate covered strawberries for celebrations. However, their top-tier customer service quickly adjusted from fruit to this cake treat when I shared my food sensitivities. While that complimentary snack was free, when ordering from their menu, like Ballantyne they charge a 20% automatic gratuity.

IS THE BILL WORTH THE THRILL?

Luxury Hotel Spa Service Type Price Service Charge + Tax Total
The Spa at Ballantyne Mountain Stone Massage Ritual (75 minutes) $210.00 $45.04 $255.04
The Ritz-Carlton Spa, Charlotte Himalayan Salt Stone Massage (90 minutes) $315.00 $63.00 $378.00
Infographic: So MoTiFFated
Sometimes luxury comes with a price tag and this is one of those times. If you are moving within your means, then it is definitely worth it for your health (mental and physical). A $122.96 price difference isn’t only attributed to the 15-minute time differentiation. That is also the difference in four-star vs. five-star properties.

If you’re on the fence about which one to choose, this tip could make all the difference. There are only but so many luxury spa hotels in Charlotte, NC. My massage therapist at The Ritz actually switched jobs from Ballantyne Spa. This happens often. When she wasn’t available, another Ritz-Carlton masseuse mentioned that she was trained by a massage therapist that I frequented at Ballantyne. For the most part, the hands conducting the services are the same. The service offerings themselves are what make the biggest difference to me.

Ballantyne Spa has yet to offer a full-body Himalayan Salt Stone massage and only offer the use of its stones as a $40 upcharge where it can be applied to one part of the body. As much as I love stones, my MBA mind is doing the cost-benefit analysis and I can’t justify that expensive.

Ritz-Carlton Spa only offers the Himalayan Salt Stone massage in full-body for 90 minutes. If they don’t have any hour and a half slots available, you can opt for a 60-minute Relaxation Massage ($210) and add a $40 Hot Stone Melter, where you can request salt stones. Its stone addition is only applicable to part of the body.

You are better off going all the way, maximizing a full luxury day, for whatever service you choose. That is why I switched to the services shown in the chart. It almost feels like I’m cheating myself if I pay all that money for half my body to receive stones, while the other half is still screaming for attention.

WHICH SPA IS A MOTIFFATED MUST-HAVE?

This depends on your mood and your budget. Having been a regular client at both hotel spas, I gravitate towards Ballantyne Spa as a part of my monthly routine. For The-Ritz Carlton, I see it more as the spa that I visit when I’m going to celebrate a special occasion. In that regard, I’m not paying more for them to offer me a complimentary dessert outlined in chocolate, the whole vibe of the hotel seems more exquisite. It is not only a place that you go to treat yourself but it is also a place that you go to be seen.

Having spa days as a part of my ritual, I go to the spa to see myself. Looking at myself in a relaxed state is all I need. Ballantyne’s ease of use is important to me. Being Miss Independent, their self-parking allows for me to come and go as I please. I have even left the spa to head to the movies, and returned afterward, to end my day lounging and maximizing use of their spa amenities.

Now that you’ve been given an in-depth breakdown of both Marriott luxury hotels, The Ritz-Carlton Charlotte, Spa and The Spa at Ballantyne, which is your choice for relaxation?
