As soon as I smelled EOS Vanilla Cashmere it immediately reminded me of Vanilla Bean Noel! In the spring, I bought the 16-ounce EOS Vanilla Cashmere Body Lotion for 9.99 and was amazed at the bang for the buck. It was double the size of Vanilla Bean Noel’s lotion and for a cheaper price too! Now, isn’t this peculiar? Normally, I’m sharing about Bath & Body Works being a dupe of luxury perfumes and now I’m sharing about how a brand duped the duper!

Given that it was spring, I had to wait until the winter months rolled around for me to get my hands on Vanilla Bean Noel. If you’re a regular So MoTiFFated reader, then you know I’m all about saving money when possible! So, I waited until the $5.95 sale to purchase its body mist. After picking up that order, I journeyed to a new Target in Charlotte to do my initial dupe research and hoped they had an EOS body mist as a tester in-store.
What intrigued me to do the dupe research was knowing that the back of the EOS lotion bottle doesn’t mention cashmere at all. Once I noticed that part I was like, “hold up, what are they really doing?” As observant as I am, I didn’t analyze the back of that bottle when I purchased because I gave my marketer brain a break. I only noticed it after buying Being Frenshe’s Cashmere Vanilla Eau de Parfum for $29.99. That perfume smells so good and clean. It’s Ashley Tisdale’s brand, so if you loved Phineas & Ferb back in the day and want to support her then it’s a solid option. The cashmere in that perfume is so apparent that it overpowered the vanilla cashmere lotion. I still do pair those together, and get compliments on them too, but I know that its better paired with Vanilla Bean Noel. Now that the OG is back in my hands, I’m ready to provide you with a good analysis!

EOS VANILLA CASHMERE

Now, this one surprised me. I never paid attention to EOS being an abbreviation for Evolution of Smooth. Let me tell you, it is smooth! For it to be a body lotion, it applies like a body butter or body cream. I have yet to purchase its Whipped Oil Butter, but its name suggests that its more moisturizing and I know it will be amazing. My favorite part about this lotion is that it’s non-greasy. I’ve been known to skip a lotion application after a hand wash here and there, especially during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. That led to my skin being dry, particularly where my wrist hit my bracelets. Using this product helped to eradicate the ash and gave it a pretty glow!

Its smell lasts a decent amount of time and feels great to apply after a shower. I love it so much that I put it in a 60ml travel squeezable bottle to use it while I’m on the go. That is a cheaper alternative, over time, than continuing to purchase the 2.5 fl. oz. travel size body lotion for 3.99.

EOS Vanilla Cashmere Body Lotion - Fragrance Notes
  • Whipped Vanilla, Soft Musk, & Cozy Caramel

This one is really sweet! At first, I just smell sugar! The vanilla hits my nose immediately and it smells like a vanilla sweet cream mixed together. I don’t smell the soft musk, and that’s a huge differentiator because Vanilla Bean Noel has a smoky musk to it on the dry down.

If you watched my YouTube video featured above, then you know that during my Target trip I was flabbergasted that the body lotion and body mist have different fragrance notes. Since EOS’ Body Mists collection recently dropped this fall, was this one always a vanilla caramel scent and then they just added the cashmere update to their body mist?

EOS Vanilla Cashmere Body Mist - Fragrance Notes
  • Top: Whipped Vanilla, Sweet Cream
  • Heart: Soft Musk, Cocoa Butter
  • Base: Cozy Caramel, Cashmere Woods

When I went to smell the body mist version in Target, they didn’t have a tester and I didn’t spray the product. I just had to assume they smelled similar! I’ll purchase it if there is a good sale and I will report back in the comment section of this article.

BATH & BODY WORKS VANILLA BEAN NOEL

I first became hip to this scent in 2018 during the holiday season. It was one that grew on me since I was so used to Warm Vanilla Sugar being my BBW vanilla standard. I am glad that I expanded my repertoire to include this gem! I’m wearing it as I type this review, so the analysis is fresh for you. The vanilla bean note is my favorite, and gives it a layer of uniqueness beyond a typical vanilla. I always loved eating vanilla bean ice cream over regular vanilla, and this brings back the nostalgia of that in fragrance form. The musk scent makes it a bit spicy, and that’s what I prefer over the softness of Vanilla Cashmere. Its warm caramel, sugar cookies, and whipped cream notes all blend together. It’s one beautiful snowball of goodness that I’ve grown to look forward to as a winter scent treat!

Fragrance Notes

  • Fresh Vanilla Bean
  • Warm Caramel
  • Sugar Cookies
  • Whipped Cream
  • Snow-Kissed Musk

Vanilla Bean Noel will be cleared out of Bath & Body Works stores come their winter semi-annual sale, so if you love it, you better act fast! Based on years’ past, they host the sale shortly after Christmas for a month or until their old stock is cleared.

TIFFANY’S TAKE

Which one is my favorite? If I had to choose one to wear all the time and never flip flop between the two, I would pick Vanilla Bean Noel. I like spice and it gives me that while also serving the sweetness that I desire. The beautiful thing is that I don’t have to choose! Now that I’ve replenished my Vanilla Bean Noel, I can pair it with the Vanilla Cashmere lotion like I have done today so that I can continue making a scent statement. Smelling good is my personal brand and the best part is combining different scents to get something that isn’t sold as one product. Vanilla Cashmere lotion is undefeated and is one of the best lotions that you can get for that many ounces, especially with inflation.

There is a reason why I did the lotion of one with the body mist of the other, because they are literally the perfect dupe and the perfect pair! They complement each other so well that I recommend following this combination!
Let me know, do you prefer BBW Vanilla Bean Noel or EOS Vanilla Cashmere?
