Window shopping got me again! There I browsing around Ulta with the intention of not purchasing anything, just catching up on the latest beauty products and I saw this fabulous perfume bottle standing on a display of its own. Did I buy it right then and there? No, but its now on my wish list! I love that for me, because I have really enjoyed the original Donna Born in Roma for quite some time.

If you remember, I wrote a beauty article and shared a YouTube video that detailed Valentino Beauty’s Donna Born in Roma compared to Bath & Body Works’ Pink Obsessed. That dupe smells really similar to the designer fragrance and saved a lot of people a lot of money. Now it’s time for a refresh.

Out with the old and in with the new, Valentino told us to get ready for a rendezvous! Donna Born in Roma Rendez-Vous Ivory EDP (Eau de Parfum) caught my attention because of the beauty of its bottle and the gold accents on the rim of its atomizer. It’s so classy and the opaque touch scent it over the edge! Did you see what I did there? Scent instead of sent? Haha!! I was recently reminded that having a cute bottle of perfume in your personal collection can provide quite the energy boost. I noted the opaque feature on purpose, so that you can be mindful that although they look lovely it is harder to gauge how much is in the bottle near the end of its lifecycle. So, you’re going to have to use your instincts to know when it’s time to let go and re-up!

The Valentino Beauty 2025 Rendez-Vous Ivory Collection is a limited release. I’m not sure how long it will be on shelves, but if a Valentino Beauty representative is reading this article feel free to email me the details! Don’t get this perfume review twisted with the Donna Born in Roma Rendez-Vous Ivory EDT (Eau de Toilette), that one is a completely different fragrance and is more woodsy. That one wasn’t available at the Ulta that I visited, so I don’t have an opinion on it at this time. They also have lipsticks in this collection that are selling out fast. Its 0.08 oz Limited-Edition Lip Shimmer Stick released in three shades, but the shade of Sunrise Glitter seems to be the last standing as I only saw it available at Macy’s in the United States.

Donna Born in Roma Rendez-Vous Ivory EDP smells SO good! At first sniff, it took me a while to figure out the distinction because I went into it smelling it blindly. Meaning, I didn’t research its fragrance notes and they weren’t listed on the display in the store. Based on the product’s name, I knew that it would smell similar to the original collection but would also contrast at the same time. It’s a good different! At this point in my life, I’m all about change because that’s the only constant in life. Boy, did these notes provide a change!

Fragrance Notes
  • Top Notes: Green Mandarin Super Essence, Orange Blossom Accord
  • Middle Notes: Marshmallow Accord
  • Base Notes: Madagascar Vanilla, Musks

It smells really sweet! Once I investigated the scent notes, I was reminded that the familiar aroma to me was marshmallow! I love a good vanilla and marshmallow scent, particularly Love Don’t be Shy by Kilian Paris. So, this essence of Donna Born in Roma had me intrigued. Its marshmallow is marshmallow-ing! The spice from the main version isn’t present as that one has a floral bergamot vibe. In this parfum, the sweetness is what makes it bold. The top notes of citrus (orange and mandarin) are slight. The middle and base notes (marshmallow and vanilla) take over the show, and I want an encore! Musk is very popular in designer perfumes, but its not over powering so that shouldn’t be a turnoff if you don’t love musk.

True to Valentino prices, a 3.4 ounce bottle of Donna Born in Roma Rendez-Vous Ivory EDP will run you $190. Although that price point is pricey, this brand has great staying power. The OG perfume has lasted me more than a year and counting. Their scents are a great bang for your buck over time!

Let me know, will you be trying these products?
