The Dior Addict universe just got a chromatic upgrade, and if you have been following the evolution of the clean girl aesthetic into something more gourmand and vibrant, then you know this drop was inevitable. While their highly sought after lip products add vibrancy and a well-moisturized look to your appearance, the same can be said for fragrance. Though fragrance in itself is invisible, the scent trail that you leave makes you more visible. Gone are the days where folks are walking around looking like SpongeBob SquarePants when he left Bikini Bottom and went above water. His lips were all caved in and looking a bit dry, sponge skin and all. The great thing is that won't be us in this day and age. There are too many beauty products on the market to be less than our best.
As far as Dior, their Dior Addict Lip Glow Oils were the inspiration behind the Dior Addict Fragrance Collection. The legendary Maison Francis Kurkdjian, whose self-named brand is thriving, is also Dior's Perfume Creation Director. As I have covered his fragrances extensively on this site, sharing his latest and my favorites, this scent collection strays significantly from his own brand. The intentionality behind this drop intrigued me in January as I was decoding designer-inspired dupes. As a business analyst, I am always interested to break down how brands market new products to their consumer base as they release them. The initial buzz for this one did not stand out to me until I was chatting with some awesome retail associates about new products coming to shelves. Each one of Kurkdjian's scents for own brand have a story, so I decided to examine the storytelling behind these three Dior perfumes.

The Aesthetic Dominance of the Dior Addict Rollout

The digital rollout for the Dior Addict Glow collection prioritized aesthetic dominance over traditional storytelling, effectively tethering the new fragrances to the existing viral success of the Lip Glow Oil. By leveraging algorithms to their favor for those who favor gourmand and smelling fresh, Dior did not just launch perfumes; they enhanced lifestyles. The strategy relied on chromatic saturation, using ambassadors like Willow Smith not merely as faces, but as visual anchors for specific color-coded identities.
The campaign leaned heavily into a surrealist, candy-coated fantasy. In the promotional video, Smith is seen consuming a violet-hued treat that blurs the line between cosmetic and confection. As she bites into it, the perfume bottle itself appears to liquefy into a shimmering gel, a heavy-handed nod to the edible nature of the scent profile. In the digital feed, the rollout felt less like a discovery and more like a mandatory software update for your vanity. It begs the question: does this make you want to smell vibrant like an edible treat?

As a fan of the color purple, as noted with my Donna Born in Roma Purple Melancholia review, Addict Purple Glow is easily the most visually appealing to me. It is also the olfactory anchor of the collection and my favorite out the bunch. It carries a certain depth that the others trade for brightness. The purple bottle suggests a late-night elegance, but the scent itself is surprisingly wearable for the daytime it-girl. The fragrance opens with a tartness that immediately settles into a creamy, sophisticated sweetness. It is the liquid version of that shimmering violet treat from the campaign — velvety, rich, and unmistakably high-end.

The Tuscan iris, raspberry, and vanilla pair very well with each other. It smells less floral and more edible as if iris was an extra in their movie. The more that you smell it, the more that you want to continue giving it a sniff. Its purple nature makes you want to inundate with more sweetness like a purple bag of Hershey’s Kisses Special Dark Chocolate. Whatever complexion your skin, this will blend right in adding to a layer of irresistible intrigue that’s fit for a queen.

Addict Peachy Glow Eau de Parfum

While the bottle leans toward a soft peach hue, the juice inside is all about zest and vitality. It lacks the heavy syrupy notes found in many modern gourmands, opting instead for a crispness that feels like a cold glass of water on a humid day. It captures the essence of a fresh fruit profile without becoming cloying, making it a versatile choice for those who want to smell polished without being the heavy nature that comes with a traditional perfume. While these are definitely Eau de Parfum (EDP) they are very light, meaning that it will last you longer than a body mist but should not overwhelm your senses.

This one right here! It smells great as well. The gourmand market it taking over in 2026. While that really means an edible fragrance, gourmand sounds bougie and I love it! While Addict Peachy Glow has a floral note, its velvety jasmine doesn’t truly stand out to my nose, no matter if it’s the top note listed. It feels more like that being a subtle way to bond together the peach and the creamy vanilla. The dry down thoroughly reminded me of the Crème Savers candy in the flavor Peaches & Crème. I knew I was loved when I saw that candy at home. So many favors and it always felt like a treat to saver. One could liken that to this fragrance. When scent testing in Sephora two weeks ago for this article, I sprayed it on the scent tester stick and its scent still lingers. It’s subtle and creamy, while its peachiness feels edible.

Addict Rosy Glow Eau de Parfum

The rose entry in this collection is a departure from the traditional powdery rose often associated with long-standing brands. This is a youthful, candy-like adaptation of the flower. It feels modern and translucent, mimicking the light-reflecting quality of the Lip Glow Oil. Its inclusion of bright lychee, a sweet tropical fruit found in China, gives it an appropriate amount of sparkle just before you get lost in its creamy caramel nature. This provides a balanced aroma that feels like a fresh bouquet translated into a modern cosmetic cult favorite.

This one is great for those who want to feel like a bouquet of roses, but don’t want to smell specifically like them. MFK creating a likeable rose scent doesn’t surprise me. À la Rose by MFK is often described as “not your grandma’s rose.” Take that for what you will, but the perfumer is known for doing a fantastic job of concocting key notes that evoke great emotion. There are so many rose scents on the market now and several of them lean super heavy into the rose foundation, I’m looking at you Delina by Parfums de Marly. For me to enjoy Addict Rosy Glow enough to consider wearing it in my rotation is a big deal.

Tiffany's Take

These three perfumes in the Dior Addict Collection have a subtleness about them that speaks to elegance. I listed them in the order that I prefer! The purple just gives an element of sweet sophistication. While I am not truly a peach-scented woman, although I do love the fruit in a smoothie or milkshake, it is that time of year when peach rules. The more that I smelled the peach creaminess, nostalgia set in and now has lead me to wanting to purchase this product.

Having scent evoke a positive memory is the best. Funny enough, that is a heavy factor in purchasing fragrance as I did with Marfa by Memo Paris. As soon as I smelled that one it reminded of my pencil pouch in grade school that contained scented colored pencils. If you know, you know. That was the it-girl status and a creatives favorite.

Fragrance should be purchased based on how it will make you feel and not just because Dior’s name is on the bottle. Let me tell you, during the coronavirus pandemic I watched a bunch of influence videos and some of those fragrances smell like things you don’t even want described. They just have a fancy brand on the bottle. As you have worked hard for your money, choose wisely.

I have found that while I love reminiscing about previous scents and their memories, I’m in a stage of life where I am exploring new things. Hence the rose scent returning to the conversation. Its candy-like adaptation makes me forget that it is a rose scent in the first place. It will be an ongoing process for me to get acquainted with its aroma, but for someone who loves rose and candy, oh this will be your bestie. While you’re all smelling good, go ahead and get you a rose activity to complete with your cute self. Personally, I could see myself wearing this scent while building another red rose LEGO bouquet.

These three are all winners in their own way, depending on your nose its preference! If you are looking for a sugar scent that makes you feel like a snack and a treat, owning a perfume that will stick to your skin longer than a body mist but is not overpowering, then this is a great option. Dior describes its intensity as 2 out of 4, so with 50% intensity and walking around smelling edible, you are sure to be a compliment magnet!
