Smelling luxurious is not synonymous with spending exuberant amounts of money. It’s an intentional choice in how you show up for yourself, an invisible and vital pillar of your style. Before I became an Editor-in-Chief, I was a passionate child who sold Avon. I always had a catalog by my side, prepared to motivate women to lean into scents that established their unique aesthetic. Knowing that invisible identifier is one that not only lingers in the air but lasts in the minds of others as they remember interacting with you, I take pride in supporting your journey. This digital lifestyle editorial is an evolution of that childhood passion, still holding tight to my love of entrepreneurship.
In 2025, over 55,000 of you turned to So MoTiFFated to decode the world of designer matches. As you move through this guide, I hope you find the motivation to enhance your scent library. Over time it will be full of bottles that tell stories of your treasured passions and reflect how beautiful you are on the inside.
This is the year that you will live in full bloom! You are reading this article because you value the invisible part of your personal brand. Your scent. Hopefully, you have had an encounter where you’ve walked down a hallway or a sidewalk smelling so good that heads turn. Brief moments later, someone stops to ask what scent you’re wearing. That happens to me so often that when people see me now, they look forward to me having on a new perfume because smelling good is my brand.
If that hasn’t happened to you before, this article will change your life!
Being the first to publish a beauty article on these B&BW’s designer dupes is a lot of fun. It is also enough pressure to make diamonds at Tiffany & Co. By the time this article is live, they still haven’t published these scents to their website for online shopping. You can imagine how much fun this overachiever had perusing the mall finding the scent pairs for you while it is still exclusive.

The Backstory: This is the best blind buy I have purchased in luxury fragrance! Deep into the pandemic, it wasn’t smart to go fragrance testing in-store, so I trusted my instincts based on the scent notes and bought it on sale for $225.25. Four years later, it retails for $295. Even with its price tag, the benefits outweigh the cost and kept me coming back for more. I’m now on my second bottle, and it’s a compliment magnet! Tiffany’s Take: Upon first spray, it’s a sweet swirl of goodness. You get the softness of orange blossom, a scent so different from the fruit itself because it’s draped in a honey-like sensation that makes you want to find love. It’s a nod to love being bold and a reminder that it is right in front of you. This is a love letter, out loud, to your skin. The longer you wear it, the more you become infatuated with the vanilla and marshmallow. It’s the kind of scent you want to wear forever, while its intoxicating trail turns heads and whispers of a love that is unapologetically yours.
The Backstory: This one immediately stood out to me as Love, Don't Be Shy by Kilian. If you’re not familiar with its designer muse, it first got on my radar because it is notoriously known as Rihanna’s signature scent. Before launching her own Fenty fragrances, she wore this around the entertainment circuit. The best part is that she never publicly confirmed it as her favorite. InStyle magazine published a video in 2022, where Jackie Aina shared her experience seeing Rihanna at an industry event. She recounted asking her, “Girl, what do you smell like? I’ve never smelled anything like that.” Lucky for us, Jackie scent-matched it a year later to LDBS. Tiffany’s Take: For hundreds of dollars cheaper, this one is nearly identical. The fluffiness of the marshmallow is there like a cloud unleashing love of sugared pink peppers and neroli. The latter is a sneaky way to bring in the orange blossom scent without completely copying LDBS’ scent notes as neroli is an essential oil extracted from an orange tree. It’s so close that people will ask you if it is LDBS by Kilian! If you want to say yes, then that’s your business! The Muse: Jo Malone, Wood Sage & Sea Salt | The Match: Salted Shorelines
The Backstory: This one is so delicate that I could barely smell it upon the initial spray while scent testing in Nordstrom. Someone joked, “Uh oh, you went nose blind.” To which I replied, “Time to grab the coffee beans.” As the type of woman to never give up, I grabbed the bottle again to formulate a proper analysis. Tiffany’s Take: Wood Sage & Sea Salt whimsically offers a velvety whiff of the ocean with an infusion of sage. It provides a cleansing energy for your soul. This is a great option for the days when you need relief from the heaviness of the world. As sage is often used to keep your energy protected in your home, the same can and should be done for your body. It is an elegant scent that can be worn all year long because there are no days off from making sure your spirits are lifted. Its $168 price tag is worth it if you are in need of a relaxing vacation on the skin.
The Backstory: As I’ve covered these B&BW dupes over the past year, I have found them to be sweeter than their muses. This scent changed my mind. Going from having to spray Wood Sage & Sea Salt twice to get its drift to immediately smelling Salted Shorelines was a welcomed change. Tiffany’s Take: The sea salt is not merely a note. It is a crisp, saline breeze that awakens the senses, while the sage offers an inviting, earthy aroma that settles beautifully on the skin. Bergamot is a prevalent ingredient in Earl Grey tea, so instead of opting for a heavy musk note, it seems to me that B&BW made Salted Shorelines bolder than its inspired designer match. While I was in store, passionate about making the dupe connection, I shared it with a fellow shopper and gave her a rundown on the Everyday Luxuries collection. This was the second scent she smelled and loved it so much she purchased its body mist. As she thanked me again upon exiting the store, I saw it as a preview into the thousands that I’ll inspire to buy these scents in store too. It’s always a highlight of my day to help folks build their scent confidence! The Muse: Clinique Happy | The Match: Hello Happiness
The Backstory: There was an immediate link between Clinique’s Happy and Hello Happiness. When determining dupe pairs, I often look for names linked by a clever play on words, but this connection felt more like a nod to a fragrance icon. While I had never personally worn this scent, its reputation as the gold standard for uplifting, citrus-forward perfumery made the pairing undeniable. Tiffany’s Take: If Clinique Happy were a Screen Actors Guild award for Outstanding Performance, the red grapefruit is the lead actor and the mandarin note is the supporting actor. The rest of the cast creeps in smoothly on the dry down. Featuring lily in both its middle and bottom notes, it delivers a consistent, fruity, sweet floral. The honeysuckle brings a nostalgic vibe. With this scent being created in 1997, it wasn't long after that I was in elementary school, pulling honeysuckle from the trees for an impromptu snack during my after-school program. This scent is a beautiful choice for the mature woman. While describing my honeysuckle memories to one of the beauty clerks, I realized with a smile that I now sit firmly in that "mature" category myself, a position of wisdom and refined taste. Where to wear? Definitely a springtime Sunday service or a day of blissful errands. Writing this description actually made me happy, and I hope wearing it does the same for you.
The Backstory: This doesn’t have much of an origin story, as it was easily identifiable once I learned of the dupes available in this collection. Several folks in the store automatically called this one too, as if playing a spirited game of fragrance trivia. If only these dupe pairs were all so easy! Tiffany’s Take: This dupe is remarkably close. Given that there isn’t a honeysuckle note in its formula, I’m surprised that it smells this similar. There aren’t remnants of red grapefruit — an ingredient in Clinique’s Happy that required an adjustment period for my nose. Nor is there a prominent note of lily, which is a nod to how passionately the B&BW engineers work to bring these products to market. Seeing these scents in their glory reminds me of the science behind color mixing. This is a joyful reimagination that definitely suits a younger audience. It is perfect for a brunch date with an aesthetic, "Instagrammable" ambience with your girlfriends, or a movie date while watching the latest romantic comedy. It is a strong competitor to its muse, while offering happiness a radiant hello. The Muse: Matiere Premiere, Vanilla Powder | The Match: Eau de Coconut
The Backstory: Determining the muse was incredibly difficult for this duo. My reflections are based on my imagination and my nose. For this one, my imagination was stretched like SpongeBob SquarePants when he formed a spirited, imaginary rainbow with his hands. Hours went into this decoding, and I am in love with the wiggle room it provides for the senses. Tiffany’s Take: As a lover of vanilla, this is hands down the best coconut scent I have ever smelled. The vanilla powder is heavenly, possessing a sheer, prestige quality that mimics the feeling of slipping into a silk robe. It provides a creamy, powdered finish that justifies every bit of this French house's illustrious reputation. I have been infatuated with gourmand fragrances long before I knew the term existed. It’s just a fancy way of defining edible scents. The coconut powder note sets it apart from the rest, projecting a gift of quiet luxury. This is an every-season, every-day scent. True to designer brands, it contains musk. While some musks can be overpowering, this one is simply adored. This is the first perfume I’ve analyzed with a Heliotrope note, a flower often nicknamed the "Cherry Pie Flower" for its fragrance giving vibes of vanilla, almond, and marzipan. It does carry a slightly nutty nuance, but it is so plush that unless your analyzing fragrance as I do, it is unlikely you would notice. With a $230 price tag, the muse is heavily guarded in department stores and often kept off display. That layer of inaccessibility only makes it more desirable!
The Backstory: Upon first sniff, this immediately recalled the nostalgia of At The Beach, a semi-retired Bath & Body Works favorite of mine from 2019. However, the complexity here signaled a more sophisticated muse. Bath & Body Works typically looks to designer houses for inspiration, which led me to dive deeper into the prestige market to identify this pair. Tiffany’s Take: This is a remarkable match. The prominent vanilla and coconut architecture led me straight to Matiere Premiere. This scent boasts a formidable coconut core, while the strategic addition of a lily note elevates the experience into something truly special. When I order flowers as an act of self-care, I always include lilies. They require a patient wait to bloom, but the result is unparalleled beauty. This same sense of unfolding defines the fragrance. As the floral notes peak, the scent transforms into an upbeat, luminous experience. It feels lighter and less musky than traditional compositions, offering a vibrant energy that is perfectly curated for an effervescent clientele. The Muse: Dior, J’adore EDT | The Match: Always Fleur
The Backstory: A masterpiece from a French designer house always elevates the olfactory experience. Identifying this match became a dedicated pursuit. Despite widespread speculation within the fragrance community, I quickly ruled out Viktor & Rolf’s Flowerbomb, as that profile was already claimed by Floral Fantasy, a discontinued B&BW dupe. There was pure exhilaration in this pursuit, which involved a scent audit of five designer fragrances to identify the definitive match. Tiffany’s Take: This scent exudes sophistication, making it an essential selection for a gala or celebratory event. The blood orange aligns so convincingly with the rose that it produces a synergistic effect, giving off a distinct pear quality. Without a glance at the notes, one would easily mistake it for a pear powerhouse. There is a critical distinction to be made here as you must secure the Eau de Toilette version for its superior sweetness. During my scent audit, I ruled out its Eau de Parfum (EDP) version immediately. If you are seeking a long-lasting version of B&BW’s Always Fleur, pay close attention to the bottle to ensure you don’t select the EDP by mistake.
The Backstory: Smelling the dupe first revealed a refined essence, a sophisticated profile that eluded immediate classification. However, I was intent on decoding the match for my audience. The profile features such a prominent and singular note that I was able to rule out the speculated inspirations immediately. This left me with an expansive landscape of options within the intricate world of high-end perfumery. This was more than a search. It was a mission to identify a masterpiece. Tiffany’s Take: This fragrance offers a unique take on the floral genre by leaning into a lush pear and rose duality that is nothing short of exquisite. Unlike the Dior J’adore EDT, this composition balances its notes so convincingly that it mirrors the exact allure its muse exudes. The addition of cedar musks provides a formidable depth, anchoring the brighter accords and seamlessly pulling the profile together. It is the ultimate "first date" fragrance. It is bold enough to command attention during a candlelit dinner, yet effortless enough for a sun-drenched picnic in the park. To truly embody this irresistible aesthetic, pair it with a flowing summer dress and sandals. For those planning to be outdoors, I recommend layering the scent over its coordinating body cream to ensure an hours-long statement. In this case, abundance is key. A generous application is the only way to ensure the fragrance maintains its stunning presence from day to night. The Muse: Valentino, Donna Born in Roma | The Match: Pink Obsessed
The Backstory: This fragrance has been a consistent presence on my vanity for years. The bottle remains as striking today as the day I brought it home. It is a testament to the quality of the house that the composition has remained so vibrant over time, and I anticipate it will continue to be a staple in my rotation for years to come. I previously detailed my love of this scent in my 4 New Bath & Body Works Dupes column. I also explored its evolution within the collection through this Donna Born In Roma Rendez-Vous Ivory EDP article, which offered a fascinating perspective on how a Valentino classic can be reimagined for a new era. Tiffany’s Take: Valentino’s Donna Born in Roma is the definition of an elegant powerhouse. It is a fragrance defined by a rich foundation of bourbon vanilla and Sambac jasmine, creating a precious and polished experience that ensures you remain the focal point of any room. This feminine composition is designed for the confident woman who embraces a prominent pink aesthetic. Whether you are wearing a sharp hot pink lip, a powdery pink blush, or a commanding magenta power blazer, this fragrance acts as the final, invisible accessory. It is an executive scent that balances a decadent sweetness with a sharp, sophisticated edge. The way the notes tie together provides a distinguished experience that makes one sure to stand out from the crowd. Whether you are leading a presentation in the boardroom or enjoying cocktails after a long day, you will surely be remembered for your class.
Tiffany’s Take: In my YouTube review, I explored why this fragrance remains a standout. My perspective remains unchanged: Pink Obsessed serves as a softer, more ethereal sister to Valentino’s Donna Born in Roma. While the designer muse is complex and storied, this version intentionally pulls from its middle and base notes, specifically the jasmine and bourbon vanilla, to create a more accessible profile. It is a masterful choice for the woman who desires the allure of a vanilla-jasmine blend but prefers to bypass the heavier spice of the original.
