I really spent $56 on Cécred Restoring Hair & Edge Drops! Now, I can spend some money. That’s well documented across my blog, but never have I ever spent that much money on a hair product. Honestly, the whole Cécred line has pushed the imaginary price limits that I set for myself. As much as I love to splurge, I can because I’m also great at saving money. That’s the fun part of life. You get to try new things, even if it means spending an extra couple of dollars to enjoy a new experience!
In regards to this product, I’ve seen several people online talking about how other hair growth products will do the same job for less. Some of those contained harsher chemicals than I was willing to test on my body for the sake of providing a review. For that reason, spending that much money on 1.7oz of product seemed justifiable to me. Girl math, right? You may have found your way to this blog for that reason, so welcome! I’ll be using this product daily for 16 weeks to see if the marketing is true. There are so many factors in hair being able to grow, so I’m trying my best to stay hydrated, get all my nutrients, etc. so that I’m the best version of myself throughout this review period. WHAT ARE MY EXPECTATIONS FOR THIS PRODUCT OVER 16 WEEKS?
In using these drops, I’ll be targeting my edges to bring them back! Some protective style snatched my edges years ago and they never got back to their original form. I was also in a rigorous graduate school program for 4.5 years, getting great grades while juggling my other commitments, and that level of stress can affect hair growth too. I made it to the finish line and earned my Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Digital Marketing, so that level of stress is gone! Thank Jesus!
My hair, 4C, is very thick once you get past the edges, so I’ll see if it’ll balance out instead of being a fade to full type of situation. Knowing that lifestyle changes will also factor in the results, I’m excited to see how much my edges will grow throughout this time. Questions That Need Answers (QTNA):

I’m going to save the in-depth progress reviews for the monthly recaps. I’ll include them in bullet points below as time progresses so that you don’t have to search for them! For now, I’ll discuss what’s supposed to set this product apart from the rest on the market. WHAT ARE THE CÉCRED RESTORING HAIR & EDGE DROPS?
It’s a hair serum that is supposed to increase hair density (up to 1.5x) by bettering your hair follicles and scalp. For the longest, it took me a minute to understand what the product actually was because the bottle just said “drops.” I kept wanting to know if it was an oil or a serum, because the dropper in its marketing just showed a liquid.
Well, it’s a water-based serum. Really watery. It doesn’t feel greasy at all. While honey is listed in its ingredients, you wouldn’t be able to tell by its touch if you didn’t look at the list. It literally feels the same as if you were to put water on your scalp! No tingling upon use for me. IS THE DROPPER TOPPER ON THE PRODUCT EFFECTIVE?
The dropper included on the bottle didn’t work for me. I used it and it was an immediate no. That’s when I shifted to the hack of using a travel-sized Equate Fingertip Sprayer as what will release the product. Almost a month in and I still have SO much product left. This is how I’ll continue using the product throughout this months’ long trial.

Someone commented on that I sounded like Julius from Everybody Hates Chris with me saying each time the dropper squirted product unintentionally that it was a $2 loss. For this price tag, it felt like that for sure!
HOW DOES IT SMELL?
It smells similar to the other products in Cécred’s Foundation Collection, the one that announced it being a brand. That one had its Hydration Shampoo, Hydrating Conditioner, Moisturizing Deep Conditioner, its Moisture Sealing Lotion, and more! They all share the same scent, Temple Oud.
Fragrance Notes:
To me, its scent is a part of its luxury experience. Outside of this scent being in its hair products, it smells like one they could package as a perfume. The scent on the Restoring Hair & Edge Drops doesn’t linger throughout the day after it dries down, but when I use their Moisture Sealing Lotion, I definitely smell it with me throughout the day. They actually offer this scent in a candle, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they eventually expanded it into a perfume. If you’re sensitive to smells, hopefully this one is good to you! WHICH INGREDIENTS MAKE IT UNIQUE?
Biopeptide-5 Technology That Is Proprietary
If you know anything about business, you know that exclusivity is the name of the game. Creating a product that people can only get from your business is key! It keeps customers returning, and locks in their loyalty. That’s what Cécred has done with their formulation. These Restoring Hair & Edge Drops have been flying off the shelves and have been resold online for twice the Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). What are peptides? Essentially, they are a vital factor in proteins that are made up of several amino acids working together. Due to amino acids being small, they don’t need to work too hard to get the job done. Small but mighty. They band together to reach your scalp’s outer layers so that it trickles down to your hair follicles. Once they’re down there, they serve as the broadcaster telling your body’s cells receptors what they need to do to get to work! As a lover of LEGOS, I think about peptides being building blocks that create the final masterpiece that is hair growth! Based on their ingredient list, they use the following peptides: 1.Acetyl Terapeptide-3 2.Biotinoyl Tripeptide-1 3.Nicotiana Benthamiana Octapeptide-30 sh-Oligopeptide-2 4.Nicotiana Benthamiana Hexapeptide-40 sh-Polypeptide-9 5.Nicotiana Benthamiana Hexapeptide-40 sh-Polypeptide-86 The last three alarmed me at first because when I see nicotiana, I connected that to nicotine. While I was correct, apparently its no cause for concern because it’s the peptide of it and not the actual plant. So, I had to assume that somewhere some scientist did something with a gene and the plant to create its safe, plant-based final product and that’s what I’m telling myself! Bioactive Keratin Ferment That Is Patent-Pending Back to the business education part, having a product as patent-pending is excellent because once you have a patent on something if someone tries to create the same thing you could sue them for infringement. Another major move! It includes a mix of fermented lactobacillus, honey, and hydrolyzed wool keratin. The latter being important because keratin is a really important protein that makes up the bulk of your hair. It supports its strength, repairs damage, and prevents breakage. Mixing all three together in a fermented state is what makes it special and given that the honey addition doesn’t make it sticky must be the proof! Rice Powder & Proteins That Are Fermented They love a good fermented addition it seems! If you’ve never heard it explained, I’ll share an analogy. Have you ever had apple cider that’s sat out for too long and it begins to smell like apple cider vinegar? Its sugars start to turn to alcohol and eventually will turn to acid. It’s a process that lends to smaller compounds that brings about ease. I’m definitely not saying to drink that old apple cider, but the science behind it hopefully allowed for you to learn why broken-down compounds can be absorbed easier on the body. Having the rice element included in the product makes it straightforward way to get the benefit of rice’s main vitamin, B8, which is known to mend hair damage. It’s why there are so many rinse-out rice products, because although it has been washed out, its effect still remains.
