Have you ever wanted to create your own signature scent? Now is the time! Bath & Body Works has released their Signature Scent Lab Collection, that contains 10 options and allows for you to establish your own aura through purchasing 2.5 oz bottles for $8.95, mixing and matching them until you find what works for you! I love this so much because fragrance is very personal to me. It truly is my aromatherapy. Each day when I determine how I want to feel, fragrance is vital in setting my desired mood!
What’s interesting about fragrance is that I’ve learned how certain fragrance notes smell because they are the common denominator in scents that I love. I’m not talking about the basic ones like peach or coconut, because we know fruit scents. For one like sandalwood, it’s rare to smell on its own and as much as I care about perfume, I will not be chopping down trees to get the inside scoop.

This is different from creating your own scent in one of those fun scent classes, because that is a compiled custom scent. This collection provides the opportunity to consistently mix and match what you want your desired scent to be, rather than having to stick to one creation. I will say that these are close to pure scent notes, but note quite there. As you will see from the descriptions below, the amber fragrance doesn’t solely contain an amber note. That as an aside, it’s still a creative opportunity to make fragrance fun.

I already mix and match my perfumes, body mists, and scented lotion, so I’m not the target audience for this collection. However, many of you out there may love it so I’m still sharing its details!

Tiffany’s Take

A burning question that you may have is which combinations should you pair with one another? Well, you came to the right place! Remember, ultimately the scents that you like will be up to you and your nose! However, potential combos can include:

  • Amber Suede + Wild Vanilla
  • Zesty Peach + Blackberry Burst
  • Wild Vanilla + Vibrant Jasmine
  • Coconut Nectar + Oceanside Splash
  • Toasted Pistachio + Wild Vanilla

Wild Vanilla is popular above because the respective recommended fragrances have vanilla notes in them too. After smelling them all in the store, it makes sense that Wild Vanilla was an early sell out in my local store!

Amber Suede

Picture
Fragrance Notes
  • Warm Amber
  • Vanilla Flower
  • Sparkling Bergamot

Amber Suede is nice. It’s as I imagined, because I typically smell amber tied in with other fragrances. Since this does the same in a subtle way, it’s on par. It’s slightly sweet, warm, and comforting. A great option for late fall and winter.

Zesty Peach

Picture
Fragrance Notes
  • Peach Nectar
  • Sugar Crystals
  • Luminous Musk

Zesty Peach is just that . . . zesty! It smells like a straight up peach with slight musk. This is the type of fruit scent that is welcomed, because it smells authentic. The sugar crystals note is welcomed because it doesn’t disturb the bottom line. Thank goodness. Those artificial fruit scents get me in a tizzy. Can't do them!

Coconut Nectar

Picture
Fragrance Notes
  • Fresh Coconut
  • Palm Leaf
  • Salted Woods

Coconut is a familiar smell, so I was familiar with it on its own. Coconut Nectar isn’t too bold or to faint, they created a goldilocks version of this scent in a great way.

Blackberry Burst

Picture
Fragrance Notes
  • Juicy Blackberry
  • Sparkling Pomegranate
  • A Hint of Musk

Wow! Blackberry Burst packs a fun punch. This one is spicy and sweet. It’s a great mixable option, because there are a few fruity scents within this collection.

Smooth Sandalwood

Picture
Fragrance Notes
  • Sandalwood
  • Fluffy Musk
  • Fresh Spices

You typically see me sharing about my favorite sandalwood scents and how I love them so much. I haven’t really smelled it on its own and Smooth Sandalwood is as close as I’ll get for a while. This fragrance is what I imagined. Sandal meets wood. Haha. It is nice, soft, and sensual. This one builds really well. It is bold enough to be worn on its own, but as someone that loves it layered that is always my recommendation.

Oceanside Splash

Picture
Fragrance Notes
  • Fresh Water
  • Lily
  • Driftwood

Ocean Splash is surely a fun splash of freshness. It’s true to smelling like the ocean on a beautiful vacation. It’s poised enough to wear on her own, but pairing with Coconut Nectar is a great combination.

Vibrant Jasmine

Picture
Fragrance Notes
  • Jasmine Petals
  • Watery Pear
  • A Kiss of Vanilla

Vibrant Jasmine is vibrant and definitely floral! It’s bold too. Most of the jasmine that I've known from Bath & Body Works is their popular Japanese Cherry Blossom, so imagine a straight up floral scent of a jasmine flower with a hint of vanilla and this is the one. The pear note isn’t prominent, so it must’ve been for kicks and giggles.

Delicate Iris

Picture
Fragrance Notes
  • Gilded Iris
  • Touch of Rose
  • Caramel Musks

Delicate Iris is really soft. I don't think I've smelled Iris on its own or as close on its own as this scent. Of course, its floral, but it smells like and delicate. Although it’s still floral, when pairing with Vibrant Jasmine, it could get overpowered.

Toasted Pistachio

Picture
Fragrance Notes
  • Pistachio
  • Almond Blossom
  • Whipped Vanilla

I’m not the ideal person to discuss nut fragrances, because I don’t eat that food anymore and haven’t truly smelled the food in years. Toasted Pistachio smells different, definitely toasty. I reviewed Pistachio Gelato by Kayali as Bath and Body Works created its dupe in Pistachio Glaze. Still, these smell closer to the bare-bones. So, if you know what pistachios taste like, just imagine them toasted and you’ll be good!

Wild Vanilla

Picture
Fragrance Notes
  • Whipped Vanilla
  • Tonka Bean
  • Sugared Musk

Wild Vanilla must be their best seller because it was sold out in the store that I visited, and they only had the tester available. It is very soft. Although she’s named Wild Vanilla, I think she’s just mature and is tired of carrying other people's baggage. The mature aspect is likely due to tonka bean, because tonka bean will always smell grown to me.
